RAPCON - Recycled Asphalt Pavement CONcrete
RAPCON Project is funded by Fondazione Cariplo starting from 1 May 2020, for a duration of 42 months and a budget of 285.252,85 €.
Problem
Large amounts of milled asphalt are produced from maintenance of road pavements, mostly stored in asphalt production plants or disposed of in landfills.
Recycling
The milling of road pavements produces a granular material (RAP) whose size and distribution make it suitable for use as aggregate in concrete.
Aim
Evaluating the performances of concrete made with RAP, reducing the amount of wasted asphalt and limiting the consumption of natural aggregates.
